One type of polygons is a quadrilateral. There are quite a few quadrilaterals, and they have some distinct properties.

A quadrilateral has four sides, and its diagonals always intersect and form triangles.

A kite is a quadrilateral with 2 pairs of consecutive sides of equal length. Its 2 diagonals are perpendicular to each other, and it has one pair of congruent opposite angles.

A rectangle is a qudrilateral with four right angles. The diagonals intersect at their midpoints and the triangls formed are congruent. Both diagonals are equal in length, adn one diagonal forms 2 right angles.

A rhombus is a quadrilateral with four sides of equal length. Its diagonals meet at their midpoints and are perpendicular to each other.

A square is a quadrilateral with four right angles and four sides of equal length. It has the traits of a rectangle and a rhombus.

A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with exactlyone pair of parallel sides. The diagonals do not necessarily form congruent triangles.
